Fall New York NYC Travel Renaissance Faire

New York Renaissance Faire: Everything You Need To Know

Welcoming Fall the only way I know how, by putting you on to the best Fall activity- The Renaissance Faire. I mean this is basically a medieval version of Disney World. The entire place is transformed into 14th and 15th-century Europe. My favorite part is that you get to DRESS up!!! I ordered my clothes from Amazon and bingo, I felt like a true queen in her natural habitat. You’re going to want to spend the whole day here. Not only are there medical shops with cool clothes, accessories, gadgets, handmade crafts, and artwork, but delicious food and drinks and even a jousting show and other fun games as well. This place is super fun for families, couples, and friends. If you’re into that, I’d recommend getting a tarot card reading!

The New York Renaissance Faire starts August 26th up until October 8th in Tuxedo Park, NY (just about an hour’s drive from NYC). Parking is free and tickets start at $18 for kids and $42 for adults. Check it out here!

Which Weekend To Go?

Now every weekend is the correct answer; however, the Renn Faire has themed weekends that might spark particular interest for a particular date (or to avoid one!)

  • Time Traveler Weekend: September 9 & 10, 2023
  • Pirate Weekend: September 16 & 17, 2023

Tips for Navigating Renaissance Faire

This is my third year going so I have tips that will help navigate the renn faire and give you guys the best experience! Follow these tips and you’re guaranteed to have a great time!

  1. Arrive Early: This is usually how it is for most events, but arrive early. Parking is free so if you arrive later then you’re parking ALL the way in the back.
  2. Bring Cash: If you want to get your tarot cards read, and purchase souvenirs, etc then you know it CASH is KING and you avoid all the fees.
  3. Dress Up: It’s so much fun to play the part and dress up! Find an outfit on Amazon and hey, they even have some great corsets and hair pieces you can buy there for an affordable price.
  4. Look at the Map: Just a quick glance at the map will help you navigate what you do and DON’T want to do. I wouldn’t stress this too much because not having a plan always works out for the best!
  5. Eat Before & After: The food is so expensive so it’s best to eat somewhere else. It wouldn’t hurt to grab a bite, but don’t spend a fortune on mediocre food.

Highlights of the Renaissance Faire

I always have a blast here so it’s only fair to share the best tips and tricks and inspo for a great day trip! I can’t wait to go again this year and feel like I’m living in the olden days.
