The Brooklynite Abroad

I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE HERE

If you love exploring, learning new cultures, embracing change, and challenging yourself, then this is the place for you. Here, we uncover hidden gems that open your mind to new perspectives and opportunities. If you caught the travel bug and haven’t made it your whole personality yet, then just you wait. As someone who has traveled to 20 countries, my goal is to help you knock off some seriously cool places off your list, while also appreciating my beautiful hometown of NYC.

NYC. Where do I even begin? A place I have grown up my whole life, a place I know better than any other, that even holds a special place in my heart. I created this blog mainly to highlight the local side of NYC that not every mainstream “influencer” knows of (because most of them are not from here), but we’ll save that for another day! From local bodegas to authentic bagel spots and experiences worth commuting over an hour for, it’s time you get away from Midtown and see what a true New Yorker’s life is like.

Not sure if the travel lifestyle is for you? From NYC travel recs to weekend getaways and international trips- I am here to inspire you to take that unnecessary product out of your Amazon cart and contribute to the travel fund- tangible items will never surpass the experiences and thrill of a lifetime that travel brings you.

Exciting Bucket List Travel Destinations You Can't Miss Out On

Where I’ve Been

I only started traveling internationally when I was 14 and have been to so many places since. If you prioritize travel in your life, you’ll surpass even me and find yourself richer than any billionaire in the world. Being affluent in culture, memories, beautiful pictures, and local souvenirs is the goal. How many Wonders of the World have you been to? How many places are on your bucket list, and more importantly, when are you going to Just Book It?

If you’re looking to venture off the beaten path, then look no further. From the ancient city of La Ciudad Perdida in Colombia to the crystal clear waters of Kalypso Beach in Greece, there are some epic places that I would love to visit again and again. If you’re a seasoned traveler, these guides have everything you need to know. From local tips, phrases to know in each country, national dishes, and a handy map to plan multi-country trips, you’ll have everything you need and more to plan a seamless trip.

All about nyc!

As a NYC native, this is my speciality so you’re in the right spot. What does being from NYC mean, and how can you experience some people’s entire upbringing in a weekend or week-long trip? It’s only possible if you follow my guides and open your mind to “I’m not going to hit up all the touristy spots” because, realistically, more than half of us locals have never been to the Statue of Liberty. Of course, plan your trip to your liking, but there’s a whole world outside of Times Square and the West Village that showcases the true side of what it’s like to be a New Yorker.

A quick way to avoid the crowds is to go toward the path less traveled. My list of local spots, hidden gems, and my favorite places is here for FREE, and in this economy, that is your golden ticket! I’ll help you cut through the overwhelming planning process, and all you have to do is click the link below and see all my top spots.

Looking for a really good slice that’s even better than Joe’s? Or a place to see more talented artists than on Broadway? Or epic beaches and mountains only an hour away from the city? Let me put you on to all my favorites! Thank me later, and happy traveling!

About The Brooklynite Abroad

ABOUT VERONICA

Hey, I’m Vee, a NYC-based travel blogger and content creator helping you explore the world (and New York) on a budget. As a born-and-raised New Yorker, I am not your average “influencer”. I sift through the truly local experiences that are 1000% worth your time.

After growing up in a family filled with world travelers and adventurers, it wasn’t long until I caught the bug and never looked back since. My love for exploring and learning about new cultures did not stop there. I got my degree in International Business, where I’ve learned all about cultural differences in a more professional setting, which has been so helpful on my trips around the world.

I love immersing myself in different cultures and seeking new experiences that open my eyes to the unfamiliar world around us. In a world with low tolerance for differences, my goal is to build connections with locals, support their businesses, and share my experiences along the way.

Creating this blog has been my digital diary that went public after being a guide for my friends’ and family’s trips. Growing my page has been so rewarding, and I can’t wait to see all of the cool places we’ll go together!

From hidden gems to bucket-list adventures, I share tips, guides, and stories to make every trip unforgettable. As your travel bestie, I’ll show you how to wander smarter, spend less, and discover more. Welcome to The Brooklynite Abroad, let’s explore!

Trusted by Leading Brands

I’ve had the privilege to work with so many amazing brands, local businesses, thrilling experiences, and manifesting tourism boards in the future! If you know, content creation is no easy task. I put my heart and soul into all of my projects, so each one means the absolute world to me and has helped me grow as a creator in more ways than one. My favorite part of this all is that I can get creative while making a positive impact on someone’s business. If you’re looking to collaborate or work with me, shoot me an email at veronica@thebrooklyniteabroad.com and I’ll send over my Media Kit upon request!
