4 New Year Resolutions Of 2024- An Open Letter to 2023

That exciting energy going into the new year is what I love most about the end of the year. Collectively we’re all working on improving ourselves and it shows that we accept not being perfect. Craving change and new direction is so refreshing. As a Gemini, I LOVE change. In addition, it’s so rewarding to know that you’re 100% in control of your life. I’ve learned that making bold decisions is how to get ahead in life because nothing worthwhile was done with caution. I take that in my day-to-day with booking spontaneous trips, purchasing a home at the age of 24, and leaving my dream job to grow in my career and of course for financial reasons as well. 2023, you were such a good year and I want to show you 4 new resolutions of 2024 that will stick.

New Year Resolutions 2024: Word of the Year

  1. Choose a Word to Start the Year With & LIVE BY IT: I have to shoutout @findingfiona, for this idea. She spoke about how choosing a word and living by it helped her achieve her year far beyond her limits. For me, I knew that was a great idea to see the greater vision. I knew this year was going to be challenging so I chose the word peace. Anytime something happened, I said, “I just want peace in my life”. When making a decision I asked myself, “What would give me the most peace”. This helped me learn to put myself first more and cherish my peace of mind over other people’s feelings that might not even be true (since I’m an overthinker). My word for 2024 I think is going to be stability. Bringing more routine into my new life will be the key for me to establish a sense of self and grow in my life.

New Year Resolutions 2024: Energy

  1. Don’t Share Your Energy Unsupportive People: Be careful who you share your success with. 9 times out of 10, the people closest in your life are rooting for your downfall. Given that this year was big for me. From receiving a promotion to my own home, I paid attention to the way people treated me and reacted to me telling them. With that said, being selective about the people that you choose to keep in your life and share your success with is key to living in peace. There’s no worse feeling than knowing that the people in your life don’t support you as much as you think they would, but unfortunately, that is the reality, and here’s the door!
  2. Share Your Energy With Supportive People: In the same vein, sharing your energy with people who actually appreciate, support, and are there for you is honestly what got me through 2023. I value time with my family, dog & close friends so much that I have really strengthened my relationship with my family tenfold and even created some awesome foundational memories with my boyfriend’s family. Family means everything to me so I feel grateful that I was able to have such great memories with the people that mean the most to me.

An Open Letter To 2023

2023, you were the most annoying, but the most rewarding. There were so many times that I felt like giving up and cried so many times. I can’t believe that I accomplished as much as I did, so let me have my little bragging moment.

  • Continuing my 320-day streak on Duolingo learning French and perfecting my Spanish
  • Read/listened to 10 books this year & hope to read more in the new year
  • Finally started making money from my travel blog collaborating with Hudson Valley Happenings
  • Went on 3 big trips this year (Europe, South America & camping with my family)
  • Visited 6 countries, Colombia, France, Belgium, Amsterdam, Iceland & Canada
  • Created and sent 12 newsletters for each month from my blog
  • Thriving in my side hustle that covers my rent (now mortgage payments)
  • Purchased my own home and renovated it in 3 weeks even with staples in my head

The key for me was staying accountable and also knowing when to take a break. Couldn’t have done it without my support system. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much Mom, Dad, Ino, Samantha, Natalia, Bibi, Marco, Aunt Jane, Uncle Mike, Grandma & many more! They are the reason that I’m where I am today. I feel unstoppable and cannot wait to take 2024 by storm! Cheers to a new year, new beginnings & happiness, stability and peace. Comment your resolutions below and let me know if these new years resolutions for 2024 were helpful! With all my love, Veronica!
