Top 4 Tropical Destinations You Need To Book This Summer
Now that warmer weather is approaching, it’s time to ditch our winter jackets and trade them in for our favorite bathing suits. If you’re like me, then you are in dire need of a trip, and what better time to travel than during summer! If you are from the Northeast region in the United States, then you know it won’t start to get warm until the end of June, beginning of July. But why settle for that when you can plan a tropical getaway sooner!! I mean the opportunities are truly endless! It’s time to present to you my all-time favorite tropical destinations that will hopefully motivate you to impulsively book a trip. I know for me, I am this close to hitting “book” on Google Flights.
Now before we get into the fun part, it’s really important to make sure that you’re doing everything that you can to be safe. Have you gotten your COVID-19 vaccine yet? If so, try as hard as you can to book an appointment. If you aren’t in a position to get one yet, no worries, just make sure you get tested. Just a pointer, even if you have your vaccine, most places will require a negative test beforehand! So without further ado let’s begin!
The Florida Keys
This place is a tropical paradise and somewhere that you need to visit at least once. I know I say that for most things, but it’s just because there are so many awesome places to visit! If you are a fan of Bloodline, the Netflix series, then this place is familiar to you! That’s at least how my parents started to plan our family vacation. Soaking up the Floridian sun during the hottest time of the year (July) is the reason why I came home so much tanner than expected. We first started in Key Largo followed by Islamorada, Marathon, and then finally KeyWest! Some of our favorite destinations were the Turtle Hospital, Havana Cabana Hotel, Ocean View Pub, Captain Pip’s Marina, 90 Miles to Cuba! The seafood was phenomenal and our favorites were the conch fritters, literally the french fries of Key West, a true staple. Check out these awesome photos and get ready to jet set! Best Times To Travel: April, May, October, or November. Whatever you do, avoid the typical summer months (July & August) as much as possible. We went in the middle of July and it was sweltering. We didn’t think too much of it when we booked and it ended up being nice because there weren’t a lot of crowds, but it was so hot all of the time! By all means, go when you are able to but if you want to feel comfortable, try the months I recommended!

Hawaii
Because this is worth the twelve-hour flight. Trust me, after seeing these mesmerizing photos, you might just head to your local airport and wait on standby for the next flight! I know I would. Landing on the beautiful Hawaiian island is a reminder that there is so much more beauty out there that we have yet to discover. Even though I have been there already, I would certainly want to go again!! I mean Hawaii was the perfect travel destination for all things adventure, luxury, and relaxation. If you are an ocean lover like me you will thrive here. Fun fact, I used to want to be an oceanographer and study sharks so you already know I was living my best life. From teal blue waters to tropical fishes in the Pacific, Hawaii was such a special trip and I a most certain it will be for you too. Some of our favorite destinations were Paradise Cove Luau, Diamond Head Mountain, Moana Falls, Waikiki Beach, & the Pearl Harbor Memorial. Ready to hear it again…..check out my photos from my trip & be prepared to be amazed. If you’re ready to book that trip, we need to have a chat!! Best Times To Travel: Personally, I went in July and it was the perfect weather all around. I highly recommend going during the summertime because if you go during the winter months, (November- February) that’s when you get the most sharks in the water and I don’t know about you, but I am trying to keep myself in good health, haha! The one downside to not visiting Hawaii during the recommended months of March- September is that the weather is very humid and rainy all of the time. When my family hiked Moana Falls, it had just rained and we were all so muddy!

California
If you’re looking to live the “Hawaiian” lifestyle without traveling that far and spending that much, California is the way to go. West coast people are also on such a different wavelength and in the best way. Coming from a born and raised Brooklynite, the slow-paced relaxed lifestyle of Californians really helped me feel like I was on vacation and it’s destined to be the same way. I would totally do this trip again and visit more outdoorsy sights, but I went when I was sixteen with my best friend and ultimate travel buddy. Together we went to Los Angeles, Anaheim, Malibu, Newport Beach, Venice, Santa Monica, San Diego and had a blast!! That trip was my first time on the West Coast and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. My favorite destinations were La Jolla in San Diego, Disneyland, Cabrillo National Monument, and the Santa Monica Pier. I hope I convinced you to travel here and visit all things beach! Highlights had to have been kayaking in San Diego and visiting all of the characters in Disneyland. Considering that California is a huge state, you’re going to want to have two separate trips. Yes, you heard me, Southern California needs its own trip!! Well, how much was your flight? I am assuming you booked it already if not started looking into it? Send me those flight details and let’s start exploring! Email me and let’s create a perfect itinerary for you! (thebrooklyniteabroad@gmail.com)
Best Times To Travel: Travel here for sure during the summer months (June- August) and even September! I went in April and it was still pretty chilly. I was really anticipating that beach weather. Now granted in April it was still 60 degrees in the daytime and would drop to 55 at night which is pretty cold! I know you want to feel the warmth 24/7 so that’s why I feel going during the Summer months is ideal! Besides, I heard Inn-N-Out tastes better then too, haha!

The U.S Virgin Islands
Last but not least, we have my most recent adventure. Welcome to the U.S Virgin Islands and a destination that holds a special place in my heart! Being that it was my first Caribbean destination, I was certainly blown away, and I mean that in the most sincere way. Caribbean life was something that I have not experienced, and I feel like I truly won’t unless I live like a local, but until then, I carry these amazing memories with me. I sailed around the island for a total of ten days during January, which is probably the coldest month for New Yorkers. I was so ecstatic to escape the frigid weather and soak in some sun. I had to shower in the ocean to conserve water and even learned a few handy nautical knots! Don’t ask me to repeat them, haha I need a quick refresher! Highlights were visiting different bays along with St John (Francis Bay Caneel Cruz, Hurricane Hole) & St Thomas (Little Saint James & Christmas Cove), hiking St.John National Park, and of course eating amazing foods! If this hasn’t convinced you to embark on a trip to the Caribbean, you are out of your mind but likely I know you are already convinced! Let’s talk about it & wrap up any questions you may have. Email me and let’s create a perfect itinerary for you! (thebrooklyniteabroad@gmail.com)
Best Times to Travel: I am telling you it’s hot whenever you go! They recommend going from April to June, but let’s face it, whenever you can get all of your friends together! Because these islands are close to the equator, it’s always a good time to venture to the South!
