NYC is famous for pizza and bagels, but the noodle scene here is often underrated and deserves more attention. When compiling the best noodles in NYC, I think about how each and every one of these places brings something different to the table in the best way. From the hand-pulled noodles at Xi’an Famous Foods to mouthwatering traditional ramen at MNoodle, after reaching his post, you’re about to have some of the best noodles in NYC
Best Noodles in NYC (In No Particular Order)
- MNoodle: You know when you’re craving something and cannot stop thinking about it? That is what MNoodle will do to you. On my list of the best places to eat in NYC, MNoodle is exactly that. Savory bites, delicious flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere, all the locals go here, and it’s no secret why. The ramen is the perfect balance between savory, light, and filling; it’s truly a spectacle. There’s something really special about this spot, and I hope you get to experience the magic behind it. P.S. If you go, ask for the curry chicken soup with 1 fried egg (it’s off the menu, but say you know me and they just might make it for you!)
- Chongqing Lao Zao: This hot pot spot right in Flushing, Queens, is one of those moments you’re surprised you’re not in a different country. A traditional Chinese dish dating back to the late Ming and early Qing dynasties has successfully been passed on to the 21st century with the meticulous precision of Chongqing Lao Zao’s master chefs. They carefully prepare the spices, beef fat, and other flavors to create a consistently mouthwatering taste. The menu can look extremely confusing, and the waiters are helpful, navigating it with you and recommending the best options for you. Its interactive nature makes it immersive and fun for groups and dates if you’re tired of boring dinners. This, for sure, isn’t one of them.

- Trad Room: Nestled on the border of BedStuy and Bushwick is an unassumingly exquisite spot. From the antique decor and mood lighting to the excellent service and incredible food, this place always has a line out the door, so your best bet is to reserve in advance. The ramen and sushi are top tier, and every cocktail on the menu is made to perfection.
- Xi’an Famous Foods: Spicy noodles have quickly become one of my favorite foods. Highly recommend the spinach dumplings, hand pulled noodles & the lamb burger, it’s a lifechanging combo. They have locations all over NYC, but I’d recommend the one in LIC & Greenpoint the most.
- Ichiran: With multiple locations around the city, Ichiran is your go-to spot if you’re on a solo adventure. They have individual seating arrangements, and you even order behind a curtain, so no need to interact with any waiters. The ramen is delicious, and there is generally a line out the door, so before you even start to get hungry, plan ahead so you’re not hangry.
- Spicy Village: Right in Chinatown, this hole-in-the-wall spot seems unappealing at first glance, but trust, it’s worth a shot. There’s usually a crowd parked outside waiting, so just be patient and know that the people inside eat fast, so you’re not waiting more than 15/20 minutes. The food is incredibly affordable and comes with a lot. They offer a variety of noodles from regular hand-pulled wide noodles to dry hand-pulled wide noodles. Either way, you’re going to enjoy it!
